Manuscript Critiques
I know how hard it is to get an unbiased review of what is and isn’t working in a manuscript. Our friends and families tell us everything is wonderful and our novel is the greatest thing since sliced bread. While it’s nice to know that they love our story and believe in us, it’s imperative to know what is and isn’t working in our stories before we send them out in the world.
I love helping writers and critiquing manuscripts. It takes me out of my own imaginary world for a bit and gives me a fresh perspective when I return to my work. I’ve been critiquing manuscripts for over ten years, and reading my entire life.

What you get
My honest opinion on:
- your characters (Do I care about them? Do they have enough distinguishing features so I can keep them straight in my mind while reading? Do I find them believable enough to root for them?)
- your story (Are there points where I get bored reading? Are there chapters/scenes that don’t really seem to have anything to do with the overall story?
- One week turnaround. You’ll have your manuscript back one week after our agreed upon start date.
- Comments in Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, or Scrivener,
- Summaries of my thoughts for each chapter.
- Basic editing:
- punctuation in the right spot with quotation marks,
- capitalization,
- spelling errors,
- misused homonyms,
- chapter numbering,
- mismatched fonts.

What will it cost?
$200 for up to 75,000 words. $25 for each additional 25,000 words. (1 week turnaround does not apply for manuscripts over 75,000 words)
